The Story of Onuorah Zwiitwaho Patience — Founder & CEO of Pat’s Organic Products

My name is Onuorah Zwiitwaho Patience, Founder and CEO of Pat’s Organic Products.

My journey began in 2019 with only R1,000 and a dream.

One of the first products I sold was an organic powder originating from the Republic of Chad. It became one of my best-selling products and helped lay the foundation for everything Pat’s Organic Products is today.

I didn’t start with a beautiful shop, a big warehouse, employees or investors.

I started on the streets of Johannesburg CBD, Pretoria CBD and Tembisa, carrying and pushing bags filled with my stock, approaching customers and doing whatever I could to make a sale.

There were days when people mocked me because of what I was doing. But I kept going.

In my very first year, I reached a milestone I could once only dream about: R1 million in sales from organic products.

My passion for organic products also came from a dream I couldn’t pursue. I wanted to study medicine, but because of financial difficulties, I was unable to follow that path.

Instead of allowing that dream to end there, I went deeper into the world of organic products. I learned, researched, worked and built.

I also know what it means to come from very little. I grew up in a one-room shack. There was no guarantee that my circumstances would ever change.

But today, the story is different.

Pat’s Organic Products now:

• Employs more than 60 people
• Works with approximately 700 distributors
• Ships products to more than 15 countries
• Has helped create opportunities for other people to earn an income
• Has given my family financial freedom
• Has served thousands of customers who have supported this journey

When I look back at where I started and where we are today, I know that this journey is bigger than me.

It is only by the grace of God.

From growing up in a one-room shack, to walking the streets carrying bags of products, to building a company that now provides employment and reaches customers across different countries — God made a way.

The people who once saw me pushing bags of stock through the streets could not see the vision I was carrying inside those bags.

I wasn’t just carrying products.

I was carrying my future.

Pat’s Organic Products is proof that your beginning does not have to determine your ending.
